How does a dry air generator work?

Apex Gas Generators manufactures air dryers that use pressure swing adsorption technology. Air enters the generator via the inlet filter. Then, the air enters a scrubber tower via a solenoid valve, which dries it and removes the carbon dioxide.

The clean, dry air exits the generator via an outlet filter. A small amount of the dry air enters the second scrubber tower so it can be purged of moisture ready for use. At regular intervals, the generator switches which scrubber tower is being used.
